Horizon Terms of Service.

Welcome to Horizon! These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your, either as a Partner or User,  access to and use of Horizon’s services, including its websites, applications, content, and community engagement platforms (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using Horizon, you agree to be bound by these Terms.. If you do not agree, Horizon reserves the right to terminate your access to our services. 

 

1. WHO CAN USE HORIZON

To use our Services, you must:

• Be at least 13 years old or the minimum age required in your country to use online services.

• Have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

• Not have been previously suspended or removed for violating our policies.

Certain services may have additional eligibility requirements, and by using them, you represent that you meet those requirements.

 

2. YOUR COMMITMENTS

When using Horizon, you agree:

• To provide accurate information and update it as necessary.

• Not to impersonate others or misrepresent your identity.

• To respect intellectual property rights and only post content you have the right to share.

• Not to engage in harmful, misleading, or illegal activities.

• Not to use Horizon for unauthorized commercial purposes.

If you violate these Terms, we may suspend or terminate your account.

 

3. CONTENT AND USER RIGHTS

User Content

Users own any content (text, images, videos, etc.) that have been posted on Horizon. However, by submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable, worldwide license to host, distribute, modify, and display it for the purpose of operating and improving our Services. Users agree that Horizon as a platform does not endorse nor support any content that is independently submitted. 

Partner Content

Partners are any publishing author or organization that is to be published on Horizon’s platforms. Partners own any content (text, images, videos, etc.) that have been posted on Horizon. However, by submitting content, our partners grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable, worldwide license to host, distribute, modify, and display it for the purpose of operating and improving our Services. All Horizon Partner content is to be reviewed for Horizon Publications Terms of Service prior to publication.

Horizon’s Content

All other content, including our trademarks, branding, and proprietary material, is owned by Horizon or licensed to us. You may not use our intellectual property without permission.

 

4. PROHIBITED CONDUCT & CONTENT MODERATION

Horizon reserves the right to not publish content that:

• Is illegal, harmful, misleading, or violates the rights of others.

• Share or distribute content containing nudity, explicit material, pornography, sexually suggestive content, or depictions of sexual activity.

• Harass, threaten, or abuse any users, communities, and groups.

• Use Horizon in a way that disrupts our Services or attempts to access unauthorized data.

• Post violent, self-harm-related, or excessively graphic content.

• Engage in unlawful activities, including but not limited to fraud, hacking, or copyright infringement.

• Engage and promote untruthful or deceptive information, practices, and activities. 

• Promote or facilitate prostitution, human trafficking, or any form of sexual exploitation.

• The majority (Above 50%)  artificial intelligence (AI) generated.

• Use Horizon Services for unauthorized commercial purposes.

• Misrepresent Horizon as a platform, organization, or service.

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

 

5. MINOR PROTECTION & SAFETY

• Any form of child exploitation, abuse, grooming, or predatory behavior is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the appropriate authorities.

• Users under 18 should exercise caution when interacting with others online and avoid sharing personal information.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to monitor minors' activities on Horizon Services.

 

 

6. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND LINKS

Horizon may include links to third-party websites or services. We do not control or endorse these third parties, and we are not responsible for their content or practices. Your interactions with third parties are at your own risk.

 

7. TERMINATION AND ACCOUNT SUSPENSION

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts if you violate these Terms or engage in behavior that harms Horizon or its users. You may also choose to delete your account at any time.

 

8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Horizon provides its Services "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for any damages resulting from your use of our Services, including loss of data or interruption of service.

 

9. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

If you have a dispute with Horizon, we encourage you to contact us first to seek a resolution. If you would like to engage with sub clause 4 for content moderation, you will be given an opportunity to appeal to any content removal through legal@hryzn.org to be reviewed by the E.D.I & Appeals committee.

If a legal claim arises, it will be resolved through arbitration or the courts in British Columbia, Canada unless otherwise required by law.

 

10. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are significant, we will notify users and partners through our Services. Continued use of Horizon after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

 

11. PRIVACY AND DATA USAGE

By agreeing to these terms, you agree that Horizon Publications will be able to store contact information that you provide to us at registration. However, this information is securely stored and only accessible to our database administrators. We do not collect any personal information and data through active usage of the Horizon Digital Platforms.
